Skyline Foundation is now accepting applications for the Wayne M. Henkle, M.D., Scholarship. The annual application deadline is April 30, 2015, with funds awarded in June.
The annual Skyline Scramble golf tournament, presented by Crestline Construction, was a swinging success, raising more than $16,500 for Skyline Hospital’s programs and services. The event, held August 2 at Husum Hills Golf Course, welcomed 60 golfers who came out to help support Skyline’s efforts in creating healthier and happier communities. Pre-registration is required: $75 per person includes a day of golf, cart, lunch and free beer. Do you know the expiration date on your child's car seat? Do you know if your car seat has ever been involved in an accident? Do you know that the fine for violation of proper car seat use is $124? In short, never buy a car seat at a garage sale as you don't know when it expires or if it has ever been in an accident — both can seriously reduce the car seat's effectiveness.
Laurie Bell, an art teacher in Underwood (formerly at Horizon), has a weekly art class with about 10 kids from grades 5 through 12. Last year, she wanted to create a large piece of art with her students, a collaboration of their personalities that could then be gifted to a public institution. She chose Skyline Hospital, where her sister and a few of her kids were born.
In 2010 the Skyline Foundation launched an ambitious project to convert 8,000 sq ft of the hospital's existing lower level into flexible community rooms. The overall goal of this project is to create a gathering place that can serve community groups, local businesses, nonprofits, families, patients, and hospital staff.

The only way to tell if there is hearing loss in a newborn is with a hearing screener. If a loss of hearing detected within the first few weeks of a child's life, there are many ways to help ensure normal development and learning.
